12 Important Values
Our "binder" project, also known as the “12 Important Values” project, was one of the first projects we did. We were assigned to decorate our binder with tabs about ourselves, like our passions, relationships, and what we want to be. We had to decorate our tabs with pictures, drawings, and colors. For the cover of our binder, we had to write 12 important values we personally thought were important, and thus the title of the project.
At the end of the project, we had to schedule a meeting with Ms. Carol to talk and explain our binder. This was the part of the project we used oral communication, talked about, and was graded on content. We used work ethic by having the opportunity to put in a lot of effort and creativity into our binder. We used written communication when we had to write a reflection on what we think we did well during the project and what we could grow in at the end of the project. We didn’t use much collaboration in this project, but when we did, it was usually classmates helping each other out and getting critique on each others binders. |
I demonstrated the class values in many ways during this project. For empathy, I helped out many of my classmates with their binders by giving critique and such. For grit, I got through the stress of deadlines very easily and was very proud of myself. For responsibility, I made sure to not forget to schedule an appointment with Ms. Carol before the last day, which many other students did schedule their appointment at the last minute. For respect, I respected Ms. Carol’s time and I made sure that the time I scheduled my appointment with her was at an appropriate time and not while she was busy. Finally, for integrity, I made sure to not copy others ideas and made sure everything was original, even though that copying ideas could have been very easy for me to do.
I feel I did an excellent job on this project. I followed all of the class values and learning outcomes, and I did well on all of them. I would grade myself an A+. Overall, this project was definitely a fun one and made for a good first project in Humanities. It really let the students explore their creative side and express themselves. |
