And Now for Some History
For the Court Case project, also known as the “And Now for Some History” project, we were given a famous court case given to us by Ms. Carol. We were assigned a partner, and each of us had to write down our individual thoughts about the case, whether we believed the outcome was good or not, stuff like that. Then we had to write a summary about the case. The summary, my thoughts, and my partner's thoughts had to be 150 words each. Finally, we had to make an art piece symbolizing the court case as a whole.
My partner was Angie. We worked well on writing down notes from different resources and thinking of different ideas for the art piece. However, I feel as if I didn’t do very well with collaboration on this project. I did most of the work, like the art piece, my thoughts, and the summary. I could have done way better on letting Angie’s thoughts in more and letting her do more work than just writing down her thoughts. We used work ethic by putting effort into the art piece and writing the thoughts and summary. We used collaboration by working with our partner to create an art piece and summary of a court case. We used oral communication when it was time for exhibition; we had to explain to the exhibitors what our project was all about and what our own personal court case was. We used written communication when explaining our thoughts and beliefs of the court case. We used content also during exhibition, when we showed off our work to the people attending the exhibition. |
I used the class values often during the project. For empathy, I made sure that Angie was comfortable with what she was doing, and if she liked the art piece and summary when I finished it. For grit, I made sure to keep cool during times of stress. For responsibility, I made sure all of my work was done in time for exhibition. For respect, I made sure to respect Angie’s thoughts on the art piece and summary. Finally, for integrity, I made sure to not plagiarize any of the summary, even though I could have easily done so.
I feel I did a great job on the Court Case project, but I feel it could have been better if I let Angie help me out a bit more. I would grade myself an A. Overall, this project was definitely an interesting one. I loved learning more about the court system. |
