Casino Night Project
For this project, we were assigned to build a casino game for our casino exhibition night. Some groups took inspiration from The Price is Right, while others built common casino games like poker. I was in a group of three, including Natalya Metzger-Key and David Mickle. Our group decided on Let Em’ Roll, which is a famous dice game on The Price is Right. We planned on making a ramp where exhibitors can roll the dice down for a fair roll, and even surface where the dice can situate themselves below the ramp. We ended up using a circular table with a border around it so the dice don’t roll off, and a crate to put the dice in. We also decorated the outside with red sparkle-y fabric and red fairy lights to fit the casino theme. During exhibition, we had our posters describing our game above the table so people can read them. We added together every person’s points and gave back the chips they won. Not including the ramp was actually a good idea, because it probably would have taken up too much room during exhibition. I learned a lot about probability during this project, like the points I would get when rolling a certain amount of dice. I also learned how to play a lot of common casino games, so overall, this project was very fun!
