Dreamlight
Maya and Carter were both in my group for the Dreamlight project. I worked really well with Maya, but I feel like I could have worked better with Carter. Me and Maya worked well when we worked on our circuits together, and we always looked out for each other. I feel like I could have grown when it came to including and communicating with all 3 members of my group.
I learned a lot about communication in this project. When I talked with my partners, talking to people for the human connection tasks, and explaining to people at the exhibition about our project. By reading Fahrenheit 451 we learned a lot about dystopian societies, and made us think critically about what is in store for the future. By interviewing different subjects I was also able to work on my listening skills that helped me decide what the person would like on their lantern to help it feel more personalized.

I think this was the project I learned the most physics from. By building circuits hands-on I was able to properly know how to make a working circuit, and now I feel confident with building a circuit on my own. By building circuits I was able to incorporate them into my lantern to make the lantern light up with LED’s, making my final product look really nice. This project made me realize how working hands-on is one of the most efficient ways of learning things for me
For Spanish we didn’t do much, we had to translate our artist statement for our lanterns by putting it into a google document and translating it. Then we had it corrected by our Spanish teacher. We didn’t learn much Spanish during this project because our original Spanish teacher left, but we managed. Our project was still very extraordinary in the end.

Overall, I was satisfied with my final product. I would grade myself an A. I could have put more effort into it, but I did meet all of the requirements and I was one of the few who's lanterns had a fully working circuit. I felt really strong in content knowledge because I learned how to make a fully operating circuit in the span of a few days. I do feel like I could have grown in collaboration, because although I worked well with one of my partners, I didn’t work well with the other. I demonstrated responsibility by making all the deadlines in this project. I demonstrated grit by powering through this project even when it got super stressful, like when my motor suddenly stopped working, but I got back up on my feet and fixed it. I showed respect by respecting my group members thoughts and ideas and didn’t just block them out.

I showed integrity by helping out my group members and not being lazy even though I could have easily done so. I showed empathy by not only helping my group members, but people who weren’t even in my group. As a bonus, I even got a peer selected empathy award at the end of the project. Though this was the most stressful project this year, I had a lot of fun and I learned a lot. I enjoyed the work time we had with the whole team and seeing everybody's victories.
