The Muralismo Project
In this project me and my partner George decided to talk about the issue of pollution in San Diego. We wrote a proposal, answered essential questions about Mexican Muralism, and wrote a spanish spoken piece that we presented at Chicano Park. We had good ideas to prevent pollution and we did a good job explaining the different aspects of it. Next time I would spend more time memorizing my spanish spoken piece, though, so I would be able to make eye contact with the audience more, and make my presentation less boring.
To me, the most significant part of the project was visiting Chicano Park and seeing the beautiful art that was made there, and learning what the art represented. Another significant part of the project was learning about my issue and seeing how much it affects the world.
In this project I grew in my Spanish pronunciation. When I was presenting my Spanish speech at Chicano Park I noticed that I was doing much better at pronouncing words than I did at the beginning of the semester. I learned a couple of new vocabulary words as well, from seeing them on murals at Chicano Park and from writing my Spanish speech.
