In this individual project we were assigned to write either a creative story, a personal essay, or 9 poems. Then we had to put it into a book with a decorated cover, biography, and reviews. This was an individual project, the only time we worked in groups was when we did critique sessions. We had a critique partner where we would share our poems/stories with each other and comment on grammar and spelling mistakes. I think I did a great job at being a group member.
In this project, I used work ethic by working hard on my book in class. I was always excited to get to work on my book because I love poetry, and I was really proud of the outcome. So I was usually always working hard on my book. I used collaboration by getting critique on my book with my critique partner. I feel I gave great critique as well as got great critique. I used oral communication when exhibition came around. I had to explain to the people attending the exhibition about my book. Some needed me to read the poems to them because it was dark outside as well. I used written communication by commenting on my critique partner´s work. I used content by making a great poetry book that I was proud of.
I showed empathy by writing reviews for my peers for their book. I showed grit when things got stressful for exhibition, but I still held it together and got all of my work done. I showed responsibility by finishing my work on time. I showed respect by respecting all of my peer´s critiques on my poems. I showed integrity by not plagiarizing any of poems even though I could have easily done so, and doing my own art and not tracing it. I would rate myself an A+ on this project because I enjoyed the project a lot, making it easy to follow the class values. I put in a lot of effort into my poems and was very proud of them. Lot's of others seemed to like them as well because I got lots of warm feedback during exhibition and critique sessions.
